Abacus Children's Day Nursery is a private nursery in Dalston, Cumbria. Our ethos is to provide a safe and friendly environment for you and your child with the opportunity to learn through play, within Ofsted guidelines. At Abacus Nursery, every child counts!
The nursery has been registered with Ofsted since November 2015 and cares for children from three months to five years old.
There are three main children’s rooms, two on the ground floor with direct access to a secure outdoor play area and one on the upper floor.
All meals are freshly prepared on the premises using local produce where available. Breakfast, morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack and dinner is included in the session price, along with nappies and toiletries. *Please request further information regarding additional costs which apply when claiming any government funded places.
There is a large car park in front of the building where you are welcome to leave your vehicle and continue your commute via Dalston train station.

We operate an open-door policy and you are welcome to attend at any time of day to see the nursery fully operational.

Dalston village is situated on the B5299 road, approximately four miles south-west of Carlisle and five miles from Junction 42 of the M6 motorway.
The village has a population of around 2,500 and provious many services for its wider surrounding areas. At the centre of the village is The Square, which is dominated by St Michael’s Church. There is a selection of businesses from the local post office, doctors, dentist, butchers, cafés, garden centres, and public houses to name but a few. The village also has many regular community clubs catering for every age.
To the west of the village centre is the Barras Lane Business Estate which is home to numerous businesses including David Allen Accountants and of course Abacus.
