Burgh-by-Sands Primary School 

The school is situated in the village of Burgh by Sands, about 6 miles west of Carlisle. It has a catchment area covering the villages of Burgh, Beaumont, Kirkandrews on Eden, Monkhill, Hosket Hill, Moorhouse, Longburgh and the neighbouring villages and hamlets. The school is surrounded by extensive playing fields and has a dedicated play area. It has magnificent views over the Scottish hills, the Lake District fells, the North Pennines and Solway. The children get a real sense of the rural community in which it is situated with agricultural land opposite and adjacent to the school premises. Not to mention that the village is steeped in historical value with the Hadrians Wall route cutting through the village and the memorial of King Edward.

Our school provides an education for children aged 3-11 years old. As a school we provide a safe, secure and happy environment where we work together to achieve the best in regard to both teaching and learning. We seek to provide a primary education which encourages children to grow in confidence and acquire positive skills and values to help them in their future lives.
