Chrysalis Community Activities - Building Based
Chrysalis is a local organisation that works with passion and integrity, for over 30 years supporting adults with disabilities (specialising in learning disability) to live active, exciting and independent lives.
Based in North Cumbria, we deliver group, individual and intensive support.
In partnership, we develop individual support plans promoting independence enabling you to access a range of activities, community resources, training and employment opportunities.
We offer a range of community activities and independent living skills including , personal care, relationships/sexuality, cookery, literacy and numeracy, sensory stimulation, walking (including fell walking in the lakes), sailing, swimming, independent travel, music and drama, pottery, gardening, woodwork etc from our two specialist resource bases. Pre-employment training and work placements are provided including our own Wholefood shop and weekly lunch offer at a community café.
We also support individuals to access a wide range of community activities in town and villages across Allerdale through our outreach provision.
Activities are flexible, however core provision for activities at resource bases form structured sessions 9am-12 lunch support and 1pm-3pm session.
Support outside of these hours and at evenings and weekends is available.
Although based in Wigton, individuals are welcome to attend from areas across Cumbria at these bases.

Chrysalis offers flexible support at its resource centres in Wigton and Carlisle. As well as outreach support to access facilities in the wider community.
