At Westnewton Pre-school we open for 30 hours a week during term time; 26 hours in the setting and 4 hours in the local area where we explore at Beach School or Church School. This offers children a safe learning environment where they are supported and encourage to explore, manage risk and ignite their curiosity about the place in which they live. We use Tapestry an online leaning journal. This has proved to be a valuable asset to the setting enabling practitioners to shared information rich observations and then send them to parents and Grand parents who can then also add their own observations from home.
