Captain Shaw's CofE School

Our School Ethos
We are dedicated to playing our part in preparing children for the world. Our school ethos is concerned with developing the whole child so that they leave us with all the skills they need in place to lead fulfilling and caring lives.
We are a church school and this identity is a pivotal part of what we are about; we want our children to be caring individuals with a compassionate world view. We aim to support those children who share the Christian faith, respect those of other faiths and challenge those children of no faith to engage with these deep issues of personal identity.

- Description
As a small school we naturally plan for all our pupils on an almost individual basis . For our pupils with SEND, we (both staff and parents / carers) work as a team to ensure that we are giving the best possible provision and have an excellent understanding of pupil’s individual needs. We ensure that - when we need to - we extend our knowledge through continued professional development or through seeking advice from specialists. We monitor our pupil progress carefully and all staff know our pupils extremely well. We deploy our small staff carefully to ensure that our provision is the best that it can be. For more information regarding our provision or how we can support your child/ren, our SEND co-ordinator, Elaine Miller, would be happy to speak to you. Please call our office on 01229 718 279.
