Carleton Day Centre
A vibrant adapted Centre based on the outskirts of Carlisle providing specialist support and day opportunities for Adults with complex and profound learning disabilities. The Centre is fully assessible and equipped with tracking hoists and walking harness. A team working in a person centered way co-design activities to reflect the ever-changing needs and interests of the individuals who attend the Centre. Centre facilities include a multi-sensory room and rebound therapy for postural care. The art room has an interactive white board and a multitude of materials. The art room hosts storytelling events as well as a choir, music and sound therapy . The kitchen and dining room hosts a healthy eating group and provides space for interactions over lunch or during coffee breaks. Take a step outside the door and there is gardening, bird watching and chilling out Community based activities include hydrotherapy, walking, swimming, ten pin bowling and trips to the local café or pub.
