Inspira logo Inspira - Workington

Inspira's roots are firmly embedded in helping young people in Cumbria choose the right career path for them. We are embedded in the local communities, improving the employability of young people, their health and well-being.

Inspira is contracted by Cumberland Council to offer career advice and guidance to young people who have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). We understand and appreciate the important role that parents of SEN young people play in ensuring that their son/daughter is able to make a successful transition between school and college or other training provider. It is for that reason that our expert team of advisers welcome input from parents and are keen to share their knowledge of the local education and training landscape.

Advisers will undertake work with your son/daughter from year 9 and will be involved at key transition points thereafter. Our work is always tailored to the needs of the individual young person and so our offer is flexible.  We will attend annual reviews to support transition. support option choice if appropriate, provide individual one to one guidance (often in conjunction with their key worker in school) and ensure that each young person has a clear progression plan outlining their next steps. Where needed, we can support applications, CV building, interview practice as well as working closely with providers to organise familiarisation visits.
