Independent Age

At Independent Age, we want to make the UK a better place to grow older. We understand the issues faced in later life, we campaign for change, and we provide support people can rely on – from award-winning information guides to a network of volunteers helping us to beat loneliness and isolation across the UK.

Regular calls and visits

We believe in the power of a good chat. Our free Friendship Services give older people the chance to receive a regular call or visit from one of our wonderful volunteers and, over time, form a genuine, trusting bond. A regular telephone call or visit from an Independent Age volunteer can make all the difference – our volunteers are people who enjoy listening, talking and getting to know people.
