Oughterside Primary School Nursery Class

We can offer small class sizes, which allow children to flourish. Afternoon sessions for nursery will start at 12.15pm. Nursery children can have either a school meal or packed lunch in their own area supervised by a member of staff. This will be followed by an outdoor activity.
From 1pm nursery children will join in afternoon activities with the other children in reception and key stage one. This will include PE and music sessions. There will be opportunities for nursery to work in other areas of school allowing them to become familiar with all areas of the school.
We also find that this approach allows the younger children to learn from their older peers and allows the older children to become role models. It also enhances the community and family friendly feel to the school. We aim to make children responsible citizens and enjoy making links with the local community.

Local Offer
- Description
At Oughterside School we will liaise with parents and in some cases other professionals to get a good understanding of the child. We will assess children regularly and track the progress they make. We operate an open door policy, meaning that parents/carers can speak to the class teacher or Headteacher about any concerns they may have, at any time.
