Cafe West Keswick Museum

Café West gives people with learning disabilities the opportunity to gain work experience in a real commercial setting with appropriate support.

Our aim is to support each person on placement through an extensive training programme (over a fixed period of time) to develop their knowledge and skills in a way that will enable them to move on to employment in the open market.

Café West emphasis will be on providing a range of quality meals, snacks and afternoon teas using seasonal, nutritious produce.

We encourage people to have high aspirations, to value themselves and strive towards a more independent lifestyle.

Placements within Café West will be time specific, outcome focused, contain clear records of achievement /progression and demonstrate a clear pathway of transition.

Our specialist support focuses on:

•           Independent living and social skills training

•           Psychological support

•           Vocational training

•           Social support and network enhancement
