St Vincent's School - A Specialist School for Sensory Impairment and Other Needs
We are a Specialist School offering day, residential and extended day placement to children with a Visual Impairment and Other Needs. Our aim is to provide a specifically planned and tailored curriculum to each of our pupils. We strive to meet the needs of every pupil enabling them to function as confident, independent well adjusted caring people in the adult world. "The care is Outstanding" - OFSTED
Curriculum provision is broad and balanced and focuses on both the National Curriculum and the individual needs of each pupil. Each pupil's personalised timetable includes a weekly mobility lesson. We provide Independence skill training, health care and a range of therapy services for pupils. The curriculum is enriched further by excellent partner working with local schools and businesses.

Our accreditation pathway lead to a range of attainments including unit awards, BTEC and A level study. All teaching staff are fully qualified to teach pupils with a sensory impairment. Highly experienced and skilled Learning Support Assistants and Care Staff work closely with pupils and teachers to ensure optimum access across the 24 hour curriculum.

Pupils have access to a suitably resourced environment. All classrooms are fully equipped and linked to the school comprehensive intranet system. The provision of appropriate specialist technology is kept up to date. We have specialist rooms including a sensory room, swimming pool, a music technology studio, soft play room and gym. St Vincent's has extensive grounds which boast a running track, playing fields and an assault course.

Our aim is for all our children and young people to achieve a level of effective communication, social competence, employability and personal independence, equipping them well for a happy and fulfilled adult life. we provide our pupils with a sense of well being and an awareness of the contribution they can make to their communities.
