This is a group for parents / carer's in Cumbria, home educating a child/ren who have Special Educational Needs and/or disabilities or are seriously considering doing so.We want to create a place of support and understanding, a place that is non judgmental, somewhere that parents/carer's can talk, ask questions, share ideas, information, advice, tips, strategies and approaches.
A place to share resources and learning based ideas.
A place to arrange meet ups and activities for our SEND kids and their siblings.
And a place to keep up to date on SEND support available in Cumbria.

Heidi Mavir is public speaker, activist, advocate and mental health first aider. She supports families in making requests for EOTAS. Heidi is an Autistic parent to an Autistic Teenager and a passionate advocate for trans and gender non-conforming kids.
Heidi is also active in the Facebook group EOTAS / Personal budgets via EHCP UK
We have some incredible Advocates and knowledgeable parents there with excellent knowledge of EOTAS. So if you have questions, that's a brilliant place visit.

A group for families who live in Cumbria and are either considering EOTAS as an option for their child with SEN or that already have an EOTAS package in place.I am hoping this group can help families understand what EOTAS is, give families an idea of what an EOTAS package could include and also a place to share ideas, get advice and support one another.
I also want to spread the message to families not to deregister their child with SEN before considering EOTAS as an option. Especially those young people don't fit into mainstream or special school and their family feel they don't have any other option.

This group for home educating families, or those seriously considering the journey, provides a safe place for members to post and find out about events, groups and opportunities of interest to the home school community that are happening within reasonable driving distance of the A69.
As most of this long stretch of road is sparsely populated one perk of the group is to introduce your family. This is a great opportunity to meet families living close with similar interests, please feel free to say how old your kids are, and what you're into.
